Our Professional Hospice Team
The professionals with Alternative Hospice work as an interdisciplinary team, using a coordinated care plan that has been established by the patient and family. Through regular team meetings and frequent communications, as well as regularly scheduled visits, the clinical staff and physician ensure that goals are continuously being met.

Who We Are
Our hospice team consists of trained medical professionals and experienced support staff to ensure we meet the physical, psychosocial, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and families, maintaining dignity and providing comfort.
Hospice Medical Director
Working with the attending physician and the hospice team, the hospice medical director is responsible for directing the patient’s plan of care.
Our hospice nurses help educate patients and families about disease progression, the use of medications, daily care needs, and other aspects of the overall plan of care. They help assess pain, symptoms, nutritional status, and ensure that the patient is safe within their home or facility.
Certified Nursing Assistant
The certified nursing assistants help patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and eating. They will assist with positioning, ambulation, and help maintain a clean, orderly environment, as well as educate the primary caregiver on how to care for their loved one.
Licensed Social Worker
Licensed social workers are available to support the emotional, social, spiritual, and financial needs of both the family and patient. They also help individuals navigate health systems and benefits, end-of-life planning, and coordinate community resources as necessary.
Our chaplain and ordained minister ensure the patient’s and family’s religious or spiritual beliefs and practices are respected by the hospice team. They offer education and spiritual support, as well as grief counseling to patients and families of any religious or non-religious preference.
Our pioneering hospice approach integrates complementary services with conventional medicine to benefit the patient and achieve optimal goals. We have practitioners experienced in massage, aromatherapy, energy work, music therapy, visualization, guided imagery, prayer, and meditations.
We have a wonderful team of trained volunteers to offer non-medical assistance, as well as respite care or companionship to the patient and family. Many of our volunteers are also qualified in complementary therapies.
Other disciplines may be provided on a case-by-case basis if and when considered appropriate, including nutritional counseling, and physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
