Great Hospice Care
Alternative Hospice, we believe and live our mission each day: Teaching the Art of Living and Dying Well.
We are privileged to journey with our patients and their families at life’s end, and stand committed to helping our patients meet their specific needs while maintaining dignity and ensuring comfort.
Pioneering a New Standard of Hospice Care
Alternative Hospice is a pioneer in the St. Louis area, providing holistic healthcare in combination with our standard hospice care. By integrating complementary care with conventional medicine, our hospice ensures optimal comfort and quality of life. We work to create a personalized blend of services to meet the physiological, emotional, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of our patients and families.
We understand that the hospice journey can be stressful for the patient’s family and caregivers. It is our desire to help everyone accept that death and dying come to us all, and that there is no need to be afraid of this unknown experience.
Let the experienced, caring staff at Alternative Hospice help determine if this care is right for you or your loved one.

More About Our Hospice Care
What is Hospice?
Hospice care provides medical services, emotional support, and spiritual resources for people who are in the last stages of life with a serious illness that no longer responds to cure-oriented treatments, such as cancer or Alzheimer’s disease. The primary goal is to keep the patient comfortable and improve the quality of life. It also helps family members manage the practical details and unique emotional challenges of caring for a dying loved one.
Our Hospice Team
Our hospice professionals work as an interdisciplinary team with a coordinated care plan established by the patient and family. We manage the patient’s care during regularly scheduled visits, and our clinical staff and physician participate in regular team meetings and frequent communication to ensure the patient’s and family’s goals are being met.
Specialized Programs & Complementary Therapies
Not only is our team seasoned in conventional end-of-life healthcare, but many are also experienced, licensed, and/or certified in complementary care techniques such as: Massage/Bodywork, Aromatherapy, Energy Work, Vibration Therapy, and Guided Visualization/Imagery. These services help to create an atmosphere of warmth and peace around those who have a life-limiting illness.
What to Expect
When considering hospice care for you or a loved one, we understand you may have many questions and concerns. What makes a patient eligible for hospice care? How is the care covered financially?
Alternative Hospice will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, disability, diagnosis, age, sex, religion, or sexual orientation.
Hospice services are generally covered by Medicare, as well as most insurance companies.
